Michael Katzen

Assistant Restaurant Manager, Tavernetta Vail

Originally from Massachusetts, Michael Katzen began his hospitality career as a student at CU Boulder, where he worked as both a line cook and in front of the house at Oak at Fourteenth before joining One Michelin-starred Frasca Food and Wine in 2021. There, he managed nightly operations, coordinated service between the kitchen and dining room, trained team members, and helped foster a culture of distinction and teamwork, culminating in the team winning a Michelin Service Award in 2023.

As Assistant Restaurant Manager of Tavernetta Vail, Katzen brings Frasca Hospitality Group’s award-winning approach to hospitality and excellence to Four Seasons Vail, cultivating a detail-oriented, education-forward team environment to deliver exceptional service to both guests and the Vail community.

“Bridging my experience from Frasca to a world-class establishment like Four Seasons, particularly at a location as vibrant as Vail, has been a dream,” says Katzen. “I am deeply committed to upholding the excellence that Frasca Hospitality Group and Tavernetta Denver embody while also embracing the opportunities available at Four Seasons Vail, which is not only beloved by locals, but receives so many international guests and has an incredibly diverse staff, all of whom champion warm, unparalleled hospitality. The connections and special moments being made here are truly endless.”
