Rylan Bonaccorsi
Lead Sommelier, Tavernetta Vail
Born and raised in Chicago, Rylan Bonaccorsi began his career during his years at the University of Colorado working at Boulder’s Pizzeria Locale (now Pizzeria Alberico). The nephew of Master Sommelier and winemaker Michael Bonaccorsi of Bonaccorsi Wine Company in California's Central Coast, Rylan’s professional wine experience took off at the Pizzeria with Frasca Hospitality Group. Here, Bobby Stuckey, award-winning Master Sommelier, Carlin Karr, Frasca Hospitality Group’s Director of Wine and Beverage, and an immensely talented team helped him develop his knowledge of wine and spirits. Rylan polished a lot of glassware before eventually working as Dining Room Manager and Sommelier at the Pizzeria. At the end of 2023, Rylan transitioned to Tavernetta Denver as a Sommelier, with the restaurant receiving a Michelin Bib Gourmand Award in both 2023 and 2024.
In his role at Tavernetta Vail, Rylan develops, oversees, and curates the restaurant’s Italian-focused wine and spirit program. “We’re looking forward to leaning into Italy’s rich tradition of Alpine wine and spirits, while also tracking Vail’s incredible seasons through the beverage program. The mosaic of climates, cultures, and cuisines up and down the Italian peninsula allows us to highlight various regional specialties as we move through the year here in Colorado,” Bonaccorsi explains. “When you’re surrounded by amazing people, that’s where all the credit has to go. I’m thrilled to continue Frasca Hospitality Group’s incredible wine and spirits legacy in the mountains at Tavernetta Vail.” When he’s not in the cellar, you can find Rylan cooking, mixing a negroni, or blasting Eric Clapton. Often all at once.
